The Importance of DHA Supplementation for Children with Attention Challenges

Fatty acids are a major component of our brain cells. They play a vital role in the development and function of neurons, the cells responsible for communication in the brain. For children with attention challenges, fatty acid supplementation may offer some benefits:
1. Improved Focus and Attention:
Fatty acids are used in the brain cells and can improve neurotransmitter production, which can improve attention span and reduce distractibility in children with attention challenges.
2. Emotional Regulation:
Omega-3 fatty acids help balance neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, which influence mood and behavior.
3. Reduced Restlessness and Impulsivity:

The Challenge of Modern Diets

2. Environmentally Sustainable:
Harvesting algae for oil production is more environmentally friendly than overfishing for fish oil.

Algal oil is suitable for children with dietary restrictions, including those following vegetarian or vegan diets.

For children with attention challenges, supplementation with fatty acids offer a natural way to support brain development. Our modern diets often fail to provide adequate levels of these acids suggesting that supplementation may be a useful strategy for improving brain health.
